We Promise as leaders of the Firefly Community to be open and welcoming. We commit to create connection to the physical through self-expression, curiosity and play.
Owner and Founder of Firefly Power Yoga, MaryRose opened Firefly Yoga over 10 years ago. She brings a broad background of yoga and leadership training and methodologies into each class. She has been a student of yoga for over 20 years and leads many teacher training programs, retreats and other yoga training and workshops. Practices and teachings of yoga are the foundation of who she is as a business woman, mother, wife and human in the world. When she is not teaching yoga she is a mom to 3 amazing humans and owns a small restaurant in her current hometown of Cold Spring.
Tara has been practicing yoga for as long as she can remember growing up as a competitive gymnast and knowing how important it was to remain physically strong. In 2012 she started fully immersing herself in her yoga journey to rediscover her true self. It was time to change from an unhealthy way of being.
She received her 200hr certification under the guidance of Sondra Loring and Raghunath Cappo in 2015. She continues to be empowered through the Baptiste Institue by completing Levels 1, 2, and Art of Assisting. She believes the benefits of a yoga through asana, meditation, and self inquiry can improve physical and spiritual health leading to peaceful, loving, and positive changes in this world one person at a time.
Deanna is a yoga and barre teacher and has been practicing yoga for 13 years. Yoga came into her life when she needed it most after losing a parent. Its been a constant evolution of mind and body, and when she was introduced to Baptiste yoga, by a great friend, a few years ago, she was hooked. The power of the physical and empowerment of the mind. She is lit up by the energy the practice creates and by the fact that she can share something so important to her well being, with others, in hopes to inspire others to stretch their imagination and bring their awareness into limitless possibilities on and off the mat. When she is not teaching at the studio, she is coaching entrepreneurs into business ownership and gets energized by others realizing their own potential and seeing it through.
As a wife and mother of three I often find that I am always serving others. Putting myself at the bottom of the totem pole as most mothers do. Getting on my mat allows me to turn the totem pile upside down. It gives me a little 2' x 6' space to call my own. A space that is reserved just for me. To serve myself. A space to grow physically and mentally stronger without judgement from myself or others. Without a fear of failure. In order to create the change I want to see in myself and in others I believe we need to take a leap out of our comfort zone . that all beings are entitled to feel confident and proud of who we are, in our own body, no matter what the rest of the world may think. Yoga and more importantly, my yoga community; teachers & fellow practitioners, have taught me how powerful I can really be. These people have left me with a feeling of invincibility. As though I can take on the world. That I am limitless.

Gail began her yoga journey in 2008 with the Bikram and Hot 26 styles in NYC and the Hudson Valley. Since then she has never turned back! Initially the practice offered the perfect way to break away from the day to day operations of running her own clothing business, but quickly turned into a deeper spiritual and self growth experience.
After a decade in NYC, Gail moved to the Hudson Valley in 2008, and then began a bi-coastal lifestyle between LA and the Hudson Valley in 2017. While in LA she acquired her Modo 200hr Teacher Training through Modo Yoga in 2020, and her 100hr Modo Flow Teacher Training in the Spring of 2023. She continues to explore different practices of Hatha, Vinyasa, Ashtanga and Bhakti yoga styles throughout her various travels.
Gail has recently moved back to the Hudson Valley area this Fall 2023 and is beyond excited and grateful to share the Hot style of Modo and Modo Flow inspired yoga with the Firefly community! Her desire above and beyond all, is to share this incredibly healing practice with all she is able.
When Gail is not on her mat, she actively explores the world of art, dance, fashion, architecture, all forms of human expression.
Shanti, Shanti, Shanti! Sending love and light….

Danielle Locastro, typically known as Dani, is an artist and lover of life! Dani discovered yoga in 2001 as a way to get healthy after a near death experience during childbirth and as a way of finding balance from her demanding textile design career in NYC. After her first yoga class, she realized the connection of mind, body, and awareness with spirit on the mat is the same for her as creating art, both now integrated into her daily life towards wellness.
She has a full time business called Heartful Yoga by Dani to invite others to live and breathe in the process of exploring awareness, creativity and self-expression on and off the mat. The integration process of yoga and art textile design and manufacturing is uniquely Dani.
She is now a Tier 1 certified Baptiste leader. Certified Yin yoga leader. And will continue to grow as a leader and within herself.
